X3M GPR System
The MALÅ ProEx system is a truly modular and lightweight full-range Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) system designed to meet the needs of the advanced professional user. At the heart of this new system is the MALÅ ProEx Control Unit. Designed on a completely new technical platform, the MALÅ ProEx is the most versatile control unit in the MALÅ Geoscience range.
The interchangeable features of the MALÅ ProEx make it available as a single or dual-channel system in the basic configuration, or a true multi-channel system with the optional expansion units. The MALÅ ProEx is fully compatible with all antennas from MALÅ Geoscience, offering configurations between 25 MHz to 2.3 GHz, with up to 16 simultaneous recording channels.
Ethernet communications between the MALÅ ProEx and the MALÅ XV Monitor or a notebook PC ensure safe and reliable data transfer at high speed. Depending on the configuration and the antennas used, the MALÅ ProEx can perform various measurements, including standard reflection surveys, tomography, or velocity (CMP) measurements.

The X3M system is the most compact GPR system commercially available on the market.
The X3M is an integrated radar control unit, fitted directly on a shielded antenna and powered externally. The built-in electronic design makes it low weight and compact size system, easier to assemble and operate. No cable is required since the unit communicates directly with the laptop.
The ProEx system in brief:
- Operates with the ANY of the MALA ground penetrating radar antennas
- Up to 16 simultaneous recording channels
- Autostacking function to secure best data quality
- High power autonomy
- Low-weight & compact
- Built-in electronics
- Fully compatible with all MALÅ GPR features and accessories

| XV11 GPR Monitor |
Rough Terrain Cart |
 |
 |
The XV11 GPR monitor is designed with a new user interface, easy to learn and simple to operate even under extremely tough conditions. The unit performs profile of full 3D acquistioning and processing on the spot. Equipped with a simple control button ”turn and push” and a full size transreflective TFT colour screen the XV Monitor visualizes your data even in very strong sunlight and operates under extremely rough weather conditions. |
The Rough Terrain Cart carries all shielded antennas in the 2.3 GHz - 250MHz range. Its unique suspension system provides for excellent ground contact without the hassles of having to avoid ditches and tall grass. The monitor tray is designed to accept either the XV11 monitor or the a standard notebook. The wheels and handle comes off with a simple pull of a pin. |

| ProEX Expansion Unit |
ProEX Interface Modules |
 |
 |
| In the basic configuration the ProEx can support two individual antennas, however, with the addition of one or more (3 max) expansion units, this can be increased up to a maximum of 8 individual antennas. |
The interface modules attach to the expansion unit and provides various ways of comuunincating with the full range of available antennas. The available interfaces are optical, coax and HF. |

The MALÅ 100 - 800 MHz Shielded Antenna Electronics for the ProEX and CUII control units, including multi-fibre cable, Li-ion battery pack and a battery charger. This module ir required to run the 100 - 800 MHz Shielded Antennas on the ProEx control unit. |
The MALÅ RoadCart is a dedicated cart designed for high speed road measurements utilizing one or two shielded GPR antennas. It was designed in cooperation with experienced road investigation specialists to ensure safe and optimal performance at high speeds. Spec Sheet |

|
| 800 MHz Shielded Antenna |
500 MHz Shielded Antenna |
 |
 |
The shielded 800 MHz antenna delivers very good resolution for shallow investigations. Due to the interchangeable antenna electronics (interchangeable with the 100, 250 and 500 MHz antennas). The shielded 800 MHz antenna is commonly used for mapping road beds, tree roots and deep concrete structures.
|
The shielded 500MHz antenna is a very popular general purpose antenna that delivers mid-range penetration and good resolution. The shielded design enables the antenna to be used in noisy city environments. The shielded 500 MHz antenna is the most common antenna used for utility detection.

| |
|
| 250 MHz Shielded Antenna |
100 MHz Shielded Antenna |
 |
 |
The shielded 250MHz antenna is a general purpose antenna that delivers medium penetration and medium to good resolution. The shielded design enables the antenna to be used in noisy city environments. Together with the shielded 500MHz, it is the most common antenna used for utility, UST and void detection. This is the lowest frequency antenna to fit the Rough Terrain Cart.
|
The shielded 100MHz antenna is constructed to give optimal data in noisy environments. It is designed for relatively deep penetration and mid-range resolution.
This antenna is usually pulled by hand or after a small vehicle. It is not compatible with the Rough Terrain Cart.

| High Frequency Shielded Antennas 1.2 - 2.3GHz |
Rough Terrain Antennas |

|

|
The Mala High frequency antennas are available in 1.2, 1.6 and 2.3 GHz. An optional 50Hz EM power sensor is available for the 1.6 and 1.2 GHz models. They are commonly used for concrete, reinforcement studies and for asphalt mapping and quality assurance.
More information about the high frequency antennas is available under the CX11 Concrete Scanner.

MALÅ’s unique Rough Terrain Antenna (RTA) series changes the face of low-frequency Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) surveying. The unique in-line, all-in-one, antenna design provides improved performance for deeper penetration. The flexible “snake” like design allows the antenna to be maneuvered easily and efficiently through the densest or most uneven of terrain without affecting ground contact. The most important benefit being that the operator doesn’t have to clear an access path or route prior to the profile or survey. Spec Sheet
